Dharana Capital led the round, which takes the three-year-old company’s total funding to $12M. More than 1,000 businesses use it, the company says, naming Atlassian, Zendesk, Seismic and Ironclad. It reports customer claims of fivefold productivity gains and 80% lower production costs, neither independently verified. The market it is entering already has a leader, and the leader is British.
Synthesia, in London, was valued at $4B in January after raising $200M in a round led by Google Ventures. The gap is the story. Clueso’s entire funding history amounts to 6% of what its largest competitor raised in one go. Clueso frames business video as underserved next to consumer tools.
Synthesia says more than 60% of the Fortune 100 already use its platform, and has called its own product the first enterprise AI video platform. One customer sits on both sides. Atlassian’s learning team is quoted praising Clueso, while Atlassian Ventures joined Synthesia’s funding round last year. What Clueso does differently is capture.
Its agents navigate real software, perform the workflow and record the footage themselves, then rerun it to refresh the video when the product changes. It also opens the pipeline to other agents. A Clueso connector lets assistants including Claude and ChatGPT create, edit and manage videos directly. The timing suits it.
AI-native enterprise spending rose 94% year on year in the first quarter while traditional software grew 8%. The round’s composition is unusual. Clueso says Dharana led, while more than 80% of the new money came from existing investors increasing their stakes. That leaves the three new backers splitting under $2M of a $10M round.
Y Combinator and f7 Ventures, the returning investors, would be supplying the rest. The European money is French. Founders Future, which Marc Menasé founded in Paris in 2018 and which has written cheques of €250,000 to €3M, is among the new investors. Dharana is India-focused and backed by US university endowments.
Clueso itself is based in San Francisco and was founded in 2023 by three engineers who hit the problem at a previous company. About Clueso Clueso is an agentic video creation platform that helps teams across an organization create high-quality video at scale. A team can start with a product workflow, document, presentation, screen recording, or simply an idea for a video. Clueso can then automate much of the production process from understanding the context and writing the script to capturing footage, generating voiceovers and motion graphics, and editing everything into a polished video.
