Following a €3bn funding round spearheaded by Samsung earlier this month, Mistral AI is forging ahead with its enterprise-focused technology strategy. According to CNBC, the European firm creates bespoke software solutions for commercial clients and maintains no intentions of delaying the progress of its frontier artificial intelligence systems. Chief Executive Officer Arthur Mensch emphasized that American competitors maintain an advantage that is “not extremely large”, anticipating that his organization’s forthcoming release will narrow the gap “very significantly”. Mensch asserted, “We have been raising the capital needed to scale the compute that we need to train bigger and more powerful models, in order for us to own our own destiny,” highlighting their expansion strategy.
