The Commanders (1-3) have endured another injury-filled season, with Daniels already having missed two games because of his non-throwing elbow injury.Daniels suffered the injury in Washington’s Week 2 loss to the Dallas Cowboys; he had initially dislocated it in Week 9 last season.Because he has suffered the same injury twice, Daniels will wear a black brace that leaves his elbow slightly bent. Last week, Daniels said the brace won’t limit him when handing off or taking snaps from center. The quarterbacks start each practice by taking snaps from under center, and Daniels was doing that last week as well as Wednesday.
Daniels said he is getting used to the brace, which is different from the one he wore last season when he returned in Week 14 vs. Minnesota.Daniels will need to wear the brace the rest of the season. He has talked since training camp opened about being smarter when running in games. His game has been built on dynamic play — running when needed, whether designed or scrambling.
