The US AI cloud provider announced the deal on Wednesday. CoreWeave expects the first phase to come online in mid-2028. AdaniConneX is a 50:50 joint venture between Adani Enterprises and data centre operator EdgeConneX.

CoreWeave will be the only tenant across three 80-megawatt buildings at the Taloja campus. It has an option to add up to another 240 megawatts there. The investment will total multiple billions of dollars over the life of the project, Bloomberg reported. CoreWeave did not give a figure in its statement. “India has the talent, developers, and ambition to become a major center of AI innovation,” said Sachin Jain, CoreWeave’s chief operating officer.

The buildings will use direct liquid cooling for the GPU halls, CoreWeave said. Their chilled water system does not rely on evaporation. CoreWeave will also open an office in India and hire local staff.

The company linked the investment to the government’s IndiaAI Mission. Growing in Asia India is CoreWeave’s second market in Asia. In August, the company announced its first data centre projects in Indonesia. There, Nvidia-backed Zankore has raised a $3.1bn GPU loan.

CoreWeave had about 4.2 gigawatts of contracted power as of its earnings call on 11 August. Chief executive Mike Intrator said last month that the company is “largely sold out” of capacity, Bloomberg reported. AdaniConneX is also one of the companies working on Google’s data centre project in India. That Google AI hub has been cleared for 2.51 gigawatts, the Guardian reported in September.

India’s data centre build-out India built about 2.2 gigawatts of operational data centre capacity over the past three decades. A July report by Wood Mackenzie forecasts 12 gigawatts by 2030. It projects AI-specific capacity to grow almost 24-fold to 6.5 gigawatts. CoreWeave, which listed on Nasdaq in March 2025, rents out GPU computing to AI companies.
