The EOS R8 Mark II is Canon’s lightest full-frame camera with stabilization

Drawing aesthetic cues from vintage cameras, Canon has traded the smooth contours of the first R8 for a sharp, rectangular chassis reminiscent of the nearly four-decade-old EOS 650’s upper pentaprism design. Functional modifications feature a newly added multi-controller joystick situated over the rear display for effortless focus selection, alongside a repositioned single SD card port on the side that remains accessible while mounted on a tripod. Aiming for a late October launch, the camera carries a retail tag of $1,899 for the standalone body or $2,099 when packaged with a Canon 24-50mm stabilized kit lens. To improve handling with bulkier optics, buyers can also acquire an optional grip extension accessory priced at $99.99
