Nintendo Direct September 2026: The biggest news and trailers

Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave is scheduled to debut on September 17th, leading a wave of prominent late-2026 software arrivals. Gamers can also look forward to Nintendo Switch Sports Resort hitting store shelves on October 22nd, followed closely by an enhanced Nintendo Switch 2 Edition of Pikmin 4 that November. Additionally, Monster Hunter Wilds will make its appearance on the updated console this December. These upcoming autumn titles follow Tuesday’s reveal of a revamped Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, which showcased fresh gameplay ahead of its November 5th launch on the new system.

The Japanese gaming titan completed its dual broadcast schedule this week with a 45-minute digital presentation on Wednesday. Although the overall stream offered modest updates rather than earth-shattering headlines, it highlighted numerous titles “launching this winter” across the platform. The preliminary event held twenty-four hours earlier centered exclusively on Zelda content. Together, the paired streams provided fans with a clearer roadmap for the console’s immediate software offerings.

Looking toward early next year, a fresh side-scrolling project titled Metroid Ravenous is set to arrive in January. The acclaimed RPG Persona 6 is also making its way to the Switch 2, though an exact calendar window remains undisclosed. Further down the road, Kirby and the World Beyond is anticipated to land in spring 2027. Furthermore, brand-new mainlines for both the Pokémon and Xenoblade properties are slated for 2027, though neither project currently possesses a specific day on the schedule.
