All odds provided by DraftKings and are accurate as of publish time. All times Eastern. New Jersey Devils at Detroit Red Wings6 p.m., Little Caesars ArenaSpread: Devils +1.5 (-285), Red Wings -1.5 (+230)Total: 6.5 (O +110, U -130)Moneyline: Devils -105, Red Wings -115Total goals Over 6.5 (+110): Jake Allen (.896 save percentage, 2.65 GAA) is confirmed for New Jersey after Nico Daws played Monday. The bigger issue is at the other end: John Gibson is sitting at .862 against a Devils team averaging 36.2 shots per game.
These teams combine to allow 6.60 goals per game, a hair above the number. — Allen Florida Panthers at Columbus Blue Jackets6:15 p.m., Nationwide ArenaSpread: Panthers +1.5 (-245), Blue Jackets -1.5 (+200)Total: 6.5 (O +114, U -135)Moneyline: Panthers +105, Blue Jackets -125Kent Johnson Anytime Goalscorer (+290): The travelling Panthers are again expected to rely on Akira Schmid only hours after Florida’s backup had to sub in for Jacob Markstrom (tightness) in Monday’s 5-3 loss to Buffalo. In limited action thus far, Schmid has generously allowed seven goals on 46 shots. Skating on a top line and power play with Adam Fantilli and Matthew Knies, Johnson has two goals on 10 shots in his past three games. — Matiash Buffalo Sabres at Montreal Canadiens6:30 p.m., Bell CentreSpread: Sabres +1.5 (-192), Canadiens -1.5 (+160)Total: 6.5 (O -105, U -115)Moneyline: Sabres +130, Canadiens -155Tage Thompson total shots on goal Over 3.5 (+115): Thompson managed just one shot Monday against Florida, but that followed back-to-back six-shot games, and he’s still averaging 5.0 per game with four goals in his past five. The Canadiens allow 21.0 shots per game to opposing forwards, 12th-most in the NHL.
Expect a bounce-back.Canadiens team total Over 3.5 (-110): Montreal is scoring 3.00 goals per game against a Sabres team allowing 3.67, seventh-most in the league. With Colten Ellis used Monday, Buffalo will likely turn to Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen (.812 save percentage, 3.67 GAA) on the second night of a back-to-back, without Rasmus Dahlin in front of him. — Allen Washington Capitals at Carolina Hurricanes6:45 p.m., Lenovo CenterSpread: Capitals +1.5 (-192), Hurricanes -1.5 (+160)Total: 6.5 (O +105, U -125)Moneyline: Capitals +136, Hurricanes -162Taylor Hall Pointscorer (+110): The trio of Jackson Blake, Logan Stankoven and Hall is picking up where it left off after raising the Cup this past June, combining for 17 points in seven games. For the first time since opening night, all three failed to register a single goal or assist in Sunday’s win over the Flyers. That doesn’t happen two games in a row.
The Capitals rank middle-of-the-pack with 2.80 goals-allowed to date. — Matiash Seattle Kraken at Philadelphia Flyers7 p.m., Xfinity Mobile ArenaSpread: Kraken +1.5 (-245), Flyers -1.5 (+200)Total: 5.5 (O -130, U +110)Moneyline: Kraken +102, Flyers -122Kraken money line (+102): Somehow, the winless Flyers (0-5-2) are home favorites. Philadelphia is scoring 1.14 goals per game while allowing 35.1 shots, and Dan Vladar (.857 save percentage, 5.08 GAA) should get the start after Joseph Woll played Sunday. The Kraken score 4.33 per game and are 2-0 as road underdogs this season.Bobby McMann total shots on goal Over 3.0 (-115): No team allows more shots to opposing forwards than the Flyers (25.3 per game). McMann averages 3.7 and has put at least three on net in each of his past three games. — Allen Tampa Bay Lightning at New York Rangers7:15 p.m., Madison Square GardenSpread: Lightning -1.5 (+154), Rangers +1.5 (-185)Total: 5.5 (O -135, U +114)Moneyline: Lightning -162, Rangers +136Lightning -1.5 (+154): Since falling unrecognizably flat in their season opener against the Rangers at MSG, the Lightning have won four straight, three by at least two goals.
One of the stronger teams in the East, Jon Cooper’s crew isn’t going to flounder at MSG for the second time in as many weeks. As well as Dylan Garand has comported himself after Igor Shesterkin suffered a season-ending leg injury – and it’s only been a game and a half – the Rangers are a lesser side without one of the best in the biz between n the pipes. — Matiash St. Louis Blues at Ottawa Senators7:30 p.m., Canadian Tire CentreSpread: Blues +1.5 (-258), Senators -1.5 (+210)Total: 5.5 (O -122, U +102)Moneyline: Blues Even, Senators -120Total goals Under 5.5 (+102): The Senators have gone under in all four of their games with a 5.5 total, and they’re allowing a fourth-best 2.0 goals per game. St.
Louis would be wise to start Joel Hofer (.930, 1.68 GAA), and its penalty kill is operating at 93.3%, fourth-best in the league. Plus money on an Under this tight is worth a look. — Allen Vancouver Canucks at New York Islanders7:45 p.m., UBS ArenaSpread: Canucks +1.5 (-142), Islanders -1.5 (+120)Total: 6.5 (O +110, U -130)Moneyline: Canucks +180, Islanders -218Islanders to Win with a Shutout (+700): Since beating the Flames 4-1 on Oct. 3, the Canucks have averaged 1.75 goals on 20.5 shots through four straight losses. Through four starts, Isles netminder Ilya Sorokin, who we’re assuming is getting the nod at home after two full days off, already has a shutout against the Devils while falling just short of a second versus Chicago. For the number, this proposition appeals in the hope of banking on a blanking from one of the best in the goaltending biz.– Matiash Pittsburgh Penguins at Chicago Blackhawks8 p.m., United CenterSpread: Penguins -1.5 (+180), Blackhawks +1.5 (-218)Total: 6.5 (O -105, U -115)Moneyline: Penguins -142, Blackhawks +120Penguins -1.5 game spread (+180): The Blackhawks are 1-5-0, scoring 2.00 goals per game while allowing 4.33, third-most in the league.
Opponents have scored first on them in five of six games, and Pittsburgh averages 3.67 goals per game. This gets a little riskier if Connor Bedard returns, which he is currently expected to. — Allen Minnesota Wild at Winnipeg Jets8:15 p.m., Canada Life CentreSpread: Wild +1.5 (-278), Jets -1.5 (+225)Total: 6.5 (O +105, U -125)Moneyline: Wild -105, Jets -115Matt Boldy 4+ Shots on Goal (+120): One of the league’s most prolific shooters, and only dipping below the four-shot threshold twice, Boldy is averaging 4.3 shots on net through six games. Meanwhile, the Jets are allowing 29.6/game, which is more than only seven other clubs in the league. Expect another active night from the Wild winger this busy Tuesday. — Matiash Colorado Avalanche at Dallas Stars8:30 p.m., American Airlines CenterSpread: Avalanche -1.5 (
